I just dropped the bomb

I just booked the flight and I just told A that Im not gonna be here this summer.
I was somewhere thinking he would say Oh, nice Jess. Youve got a job- go for it! He got quite upset and so..I didnt think that he would react the way he did, that he would actually care.

The only explanation I have is that I was thinkin of myself and him
